UP TO DATE INFORMATION RE CORONAVIRUS AND THE REOPENING OF OUR CLUB
Subscription Bowling Club is delighted to announce that the club will be open as from Monday 1st June for playing members only. A booking system will be in operation and rinks need to be booked in advance via Ron Burrell on 01228 550428 or 07787 523671.
Members cannot go down to play without a designated booking slot, there will be a minimum of 20 minutes between time slots.
A maximum of six players on the premises at any time.
Social distancing to be strictly adhered to and alternate rinks to be used 1-3-5 or 2-4-6 with max of two players per rink.
No visitors or spectators are allowed and there will be limited access to the bower for toilet and hand washing only. Sanitisers will be available and all waste is to be taken home by the players.
All playing members will be contacted via telephone where the rules and conditions will be explained to them. There will also be a notice on display in the bower window which members should read before and after playing to ensure they have been complied with.
These new rules have been imposed in response to the coronavirus pandemic and the club wishes to stress that the regulations are strictly adhered to without exception. If you are playing the game please have consideration for others who may be following you.
All club members will be notified when the club is fully open again, hopefully a little later in the season. Take care and stay safe.

The picture above is of our winners of the Cumbria Bowling Association Centenary Bowling Tournament, which was played at Workington on Saturday 7th September 2019
Players were Martyn Page, John Baird, Rick Gallagher and Laurence Kelly, the award was a beautiful piece of Honister Slate, as can be seen on the picture.
On the 5th May 1919 the Cumberland Bowling Association was formed in the clubhouse of Subscription Bowling Club. On the 7th September 2019 it was fitting that the Subscription Rink of Lawrence Kelly, Ricky Gallagher, Martyn Page and John Baird were victorious in the Men's centenary tournament. President Anthony Little donated and presented a one off piece of Honister Slate to be held by the club.
