UP TO DATE INFORMATION RE CORONAVIRUS AND THE REOPENING OF OUR CLUB
Subscription Bowling Club is delighted to announce that the club will be open as from Monday 1st June for playing members only. The booking system has been been altered and will be in operation as from now and rinks can be booked in advance by visiting the club and using the diary to book a rink as required but remember Social Distancing has still to be strictly adhered to.
These new rules have been imposed in response to the coronavirus pandemic and the club wishes to stress that the regulations are strictly adhered to without exception.
All club members will be notified when the club is fully open again, hopefully a little later in the season. Take care and stay safe.
ON A LIGHTER NOTE
The solution for combating Covid-19 emanating from the USA recently with the use of bleach and other disinfectants has inspired Subscription Bowling Club to come up with their own solution to combat the disease. The green side ditch next to the bower is to be enlarged both in width and depth and made watertight. It will be filled to capacity with sheep dip and it is proposed that members wishing to play should first submerge themselves in this solution before playing. It is hoped that trials will begin next week, but at the time of going to press the club is still awaiting volunteers.
Meanwhile the club competitions continue to attract plenty of entries. Last week 19 members played out the 3 wood competition and the two finalists are Ian Gallagher and David Lee. This week 27 members took part in the Handicap competition and the finalists will be known at the weekend. Next week it is the Veterans, and the following week the club championship.
We have been contacted by Bowls UK with regard to general fitness within the game of bowls, they have written as below.
